Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Mexico Police Clearance Certificate?

A Mexico Police Clearance Certificate (also called Constancia de Datos Registrales) is an official document issued by Mexican authorities that confirms whether you have a criminal record in Mexico based on your fingerprints.

Who needs a Mexico Police Clearance Certificate?

You may need one if you:

  • Lived, worked, or studied in Mexico

  • Are applying for Canadian immigration or PR

  • Are applying for a work permit or visa

  • Need it for a government or security-related job

  • Are requested to provide it by IRCC or another authority

Do fingerprints need to be taken in Mexico?

No. Your fingerprints can be taken in Canada by an authorized agency.
At CSH Fingerprinting, we provide RCMP-approved ink & roll fingerprints that meet Mexican requirements.

Why are two sets of fingerprints required?

Two sets are required by the government to:

  • Prevent delays or rejections due to quality issues

  • Provide a backup in case one set is unreadable
This helps avoid repeating the process and losing time.

What type of fingerprints are required?

Mexico requires ink & roll fingerprints, not digital submissions.
All 10 individual rolled prints plus 10 flat impressions must be taken clearly and professionally.

What photo requirements are needed?

You must provide:

  • 3 colour photographs

  • White background

  • Size: 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm

  • 3 of your front and 3 of your right face

  • No glasses, makeup, earrings, beard, or head coverings (unless religious)

  • Photos must be taken within 30 days

Can CSH Fingerprinting take my photos as well?

Yes. We provide passport-compliant photos on-site, so you don’t need to visit another location.

Can fingerprints be rejected?

Yes. Common reasons include:

  • Smudged or unclear prints

  • Incorrect fingerprint method

  • Poor preparation (dry or damaged skin)
This is why professional fingerprinting is essential.

How does CSH Fingerprinting reduce rejection risk?

We:

  • Use non-residue professional ink

  • Take two complete fingerprint sets

  • Verify clarity before release

  • Follow RCMP-approved procedures

  • Ensure prints meet Mexican authority standards
